Md., Angelos Reach Tobacco Fee Deal (washingtonpost.com)

The $150 million is far less than the $1 billion Angelos demanded for his legal work in the tobacco agreement, which is providing Maryland more than $4 billion during the next 20 years. And it is a significant reduction in the $250 million he offered to settle for in January. Angelos will be paid $30 million a year for the next five years in the settlement.

"Legislative leaders are pleased. Mr. Angelos is pleased," Gov. Parris Glendening said this afternoon in announcing the deal.

"This is good news in the battle against cancer. This is good news in the battle against tobacco," he said.
Sure it is. And I thought it was all for the children....
