Suicide Bomber Attacks Hours After Powell Meets With Sharon

JERUSALEM, April 12 — A suicide bomber blew himself up at a bus stop in Jerusalem today, causing "around four fatalities" and wounding at least 45 people, Israeli medical services and the Jerusalem police said today.

Israeli television later reported that six people had died in the blast and that the bomber was a woman, but there was no immediate confirmation from Israeli officials.

The explosion, near a busy downtown vegetable market on the Jewish Sabbath, came three hours after Secretary of State Colin L. Powell and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon met for four hours.

This is as clear a message as I think Arafat & Co. is capable of delivering. Namely, they don't want peace on any terms but their own, and their terms are no Jewish state in the Holy Land.
