Protesters decry Israeli tactics

Thousands of miles from the bloodshed, one heard anger, disbelief and a teen-age girl saying that she, too, would blow herself up.

There is no other option, she said yesterday during an Arab-American and Muslim rally to protest the latest developments in the Middle East.

She is 14, a girl of Syrian and Jordanian roots. She wears braces. And she talks of willingly strapping on explosives.

"This is what desperate people do," she said.

No, this is what duped people do. People duped by an aristocrtic-like leadership that leads from the rear. And this particular girl, is she American? What desperation would drive her to blow herself up? Only desperation fueled by her parents, and whatever fanatical cleric (Muslim or otherwise) that takes advantage of a youth's naiveté.
